SOFTWARE ENGINEER
JOB Description:
Design, develop, automate, and maintain productivity tools using programming, database or scripting languages to improve software modeling and development. Design and implement build procedures that are used to support software product development and use. Modify existing software applications & systems to suit customer requirements and specialized accessibility requirements and other needs of the academic/university markets.
Develop software configuration standards for company-wide use. Train software developers in the use of configuration management tools and the implementation of software quality standards.
Evaluate and determine software technologies (Open Source, Microsoft, Java etc.), analyze and design relational databases (oracle, SQL Server, MySQL etc.) and hardware requirements to suit product development requirements of different projects.
40hr/wk, 8-5pm. Some travel. Salary commensurate with experience.
Qualifications:
* Bachelors's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical & Communications
Engineering/Electronics Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with 3 years of experience.
* Strong experience in Java, J2EE, Tomcat, Apache Web Server, VB, ASP and other microsoft
technologies
* Strong multi-threading and multi-process design and analysis skills
* Experience developing middleware systems and/or distributed system software is preferred
* Experience with Web Services, WSDL, XML technologies, SOAP or Application Servers
architecture is preferred.
* Experience working on integration projects (J2EE, .Net)
* Previous experience using and integrating Sonic ESB and other Progress products (Actional,
OpenEdge, DataXtend) a plus
* Debugging, profiling and automated testing technologies such as WinRunner, LoadRunner
etc.
